The Palace Productions is The Palace Arts filmmaking community where we can share resources, ideas, forge future collaborations and essentially create and develop ideas and discussions together. From sound designers, producer, directors, editors, film marketeers and camera operators. This group is for everyone and anyone involved in the film development process. The film collective will be launched officially this year in Poland as part of The Palace Artist Residency.

Derek Jarman's The Last of England Live Score National Tour

Tilda Swinton Key Shot 3.jpg

Tilda Swinton stars in cult queer film director Derek Jarman’s personal commentary on the decline of his country in a language closer to poetry than prose. The Last of England is an angrily poetic, personal portrayal of a country that he saw was in ruins. Through the experimental form, through the post-apocalyptic depiction of the country, Derek’s film dismantles the establishment and highlights the horrors of Thatchers Britain through a dream-like state. This film is reawakened in response to Brexit Britain in 2019.

Experience this unique screening with a live score from artists Joe Summers, Rosa Irwin-Clark and Thomas Summers who will be using everything at their disposal to create an oscillating audio-visual experience that will draw new meaning from the film.

This project is supported by the BFI Film Audience Network as part of Changing Times: Shifting Ground.

The Palace presents a discussion on mental health within the creative industries at Voodoo 55, Berlin

May is Mental Health Awareness month. With this event The Palace would like to open up the conversation about mental health in the creative industry. Nurturing creativity goes hand in hand with talking about what may be holding you back or running you down. Too often are people run into the ground from stress and emotional labour and it is time to ask “what’s on your mind?”.
